Tired of the same old beers you can buy from the grocery? Why not try some locally crafted beer? It may be a bit pricey compared to commercial variants, but the experience will be worth it. It’s the holiday season so you have a reason to splurge. lol
We bumped into this article by Kara Santos which is a beer lover’s guide to local craft beers nationwide. Believe it or not, there is an industry for Filipino beer bars spreading from north to south.
Here are some of the beers/beer bars you may put on your holiday bucket list:
Baguio Craft Brewery
Going to the summer capital soon? Head to Baguio Craft Brewery and try their Mythic Beers. We’re actually curious about the Lagud Strawberry Beer.
Craftpoint Brewing Company
Another pride of the craft beer community in the north. They are one of the firsts bars in the country to have locally brewed beers. Their customers recommend the Surftown Ale which can only be found in their La Union branch.
Great Islands Craft Brewery
Puto bumbong and halo-halo ale, anyone? These gems can only be found at Great Islands Craft Brewery in Cavite.
Engkanto Brewery
If your looking for an unconventional yet pocket friendly local beers in Makati, this is the place to go to. We want to try their coconut ale pronto.
Amigos de la Playa
Boracay’s Amigos de la Playa is the house of the organic Puka Beach White India Pale Ale. We can’t wait to go to Bora and try this.
Cebu Beer Factory
The Cebu Beer Factory boasts their French recipes but purely made in the PH beers. We are interested about their flavored beers specifically the tiramisu one.
Fat Pauly’s Hand-Crafted Ales & Lagers
Iligan’s pride, Fat Pauly’s, make their beers with high quality malt and local ingredients. Their Mont Lelong Smoked Mocha Porter sounds perfect with a crispy chicharon.
Local craft beers, or even the commercial ones, are best served in ice-cold and enjoyed in custom engraved beer mugs with your friends. It is also an ideal gift item for your special event.
